Magistrates have agreed to close a rented home in our area for three months after hearing complaints of anti-social behaviour.
The court heard that council Anti-Social Behaviour Officers and Cleveland Police officers have been working together to deal with complaints from neighbours for approximately two years.
They include allegations of drug dealing, puppy farming, cars blocking the road, noise nuisance and threatening behaviour.
The council’s application to close the private rented property at Valley Avenue, Loftus was granted by Teesside Magistrates.
The tenant was told to leave the property which will remain closed until 13 July.
A man has been jailed after items were stolen from a vehicle in Redcar.
The 36-year-old man was sentenced to 12 weeks in prison after pleading guilty to two offences of theft from a motor vehicle.
He appeared in court on Wednesday after being charged with two incidents on Ings Road in Redcar earlier this month.
More supported living accommodation is being created in Redcar with the building of 75 new properties.
Construction firm Vistry Partnerships North East is starting work on the development at Kirkleatham Green, which will be a mix of houses, apartments and bungalows.
It will be marketed at adults aged over 55 and also include provision for residents with accessibility requirements and learning disabilities.
The aim is to enable people to live independently for longer, by providing appropriate housing, communal facilities and outdoor spaces with flexible levels of support and care assistance where required.
Once completed the development will be operated and managed by affordable housing provider Beyond Housing.
