Police are carrying out inquires into the sudden death of a two-year-old child in Guisborough.

Police and ambulance crews were called to Upper Garth Gardens in the town just after 10am on Wednesday.

Forensic officers probed the scene throughout the day and part of a dormer bungalow was taped off.

Cleveland Police have now confirmed officers attended a report of a concern for safety at the property at 10.07am.

The force has now confirmed a two-year-old boy was taken to hospital but sadly died.

The circumstances of the boys death are being treated as unexplained.

A 39-year-old woman was also taken to hospital after she was found with injuries at the property.

Police have removed another illegal vehicle from the roads after it was seen being driven in our area.

The black Ford vehicle was seized by officers at 7.50pm on Tuesday on Station Road in Redcar, after it was seen being used without the necessary documents.

Police say that they will continue to take action against those who persist in driving undocumented, illegal, unroadworthy or nuisance vehicles.

Anyone with information about such vehicles in our area is asked to contact police on the non-emergency number 101.

Public toilets in Redcar are set to close for a week for decoration work to take place.

The public toilets on Moore Street, behind Redcar Lifeboat Station, will be closed from 14 February until 21 February due to internal and external decorations.

The nearest open toilets are located on the Coast Road opposite the Stray Cafe.

Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council have apologised for any inconvenience.
