Cleveland Fire Brigade was called to a blaze in Middlesbrough on Saturday as 1,000 square metres of field were engulfed in flames and thick black smoke.
The field on Middlesbrough's Trunk Road, close to Cleveland Retail Park, went up in flames just after 4.30pm on Saturday afternoon.
It is believed that a stretch of Trunk Road closest to the retail park was closed for a period of time as the fire was extinguished.
The fire was put out by 5.15pm.
A community orchard has been planted in Brotton for residents to enjoy.
The orchard has been planted this week in the Badger Hill area of Brotton as part of a community project lead by the Brotton Ward Members to create a woodland walk in the centre of the village.
After 18 months of planning, 45 fruit trees were planted, including pears, plums and apples.
Further work is planned in order to introduce wildflowers and seasonal bulbs to the orchard, adding to the biodiversity value of the site.
Residents have been consulted to ensure that the project is supported and agreed with the local community and adjacent residents.
Five crews were dispatched to a block of flats in Grangetown yesterday morning following reports of a fire.
A call to report the blaze was logged at 9.53am, with crews attending the scene at Northampton House on Caldicot Lane shortly afterwards.
No injuries were reported from the fire, which occurred within the flats' rubbish shoot, however damage was reported to nearby bins.
The fire was under control and put out by 10.30am.
