An extra walk-in vaccination day arranged for today at two locations in East Cleveland.

The council’s mobile vaccination team are joining forces once again with the MFC Foundation’s ‘Boro Bus’ to deliver an extra session in Lingdale and Skelton today.

Supported by the Newcastle Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, the team will be administering jabs at Lingdale Village Hall from 9am – 12:30pm, before setting up at ASDA in Skelton from 1:30pm – 5pm.

First and second jabs and boosters are available with no appointment necessary.

First and second doses are available for 16 and 17-year-olds as long as there are 12 weeks between the two, and for all over 18s as long as there are eight weeks between the two.

Vaccinations are also available for 12–15-year-olds, who must have consent.

Boosters are also available to those aged over 18 if three months have passed since the second vaccine.

It's been announced that the boating lake in Redcar is to be drained and cleaned.

The work will begin next week, to clear the sand and silt from the boating lake, and also to clear the waste which is in it.

The boating lake will then be drained and a litter pick carried out prior to the contractor starting to clear the lake at the end of January.

Once the lake is cleaned it will be filled back up ready for use across the coming year.
