Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council have confirmed the next set of vaccination pop-up clinics, commencing in Redcar tomorrow.

The sessions come as Redcar and Cleveland’s Covid-19 infection rate stands at 2,330 per 100,000 of the population - the highest it has been since the start of the pandemic.

All mobile vaccination units can be attended without an appointment and residents are being urged to have themselves jabbed and/or given their booster as soon as possible.

This series of vaccination sessions begins tomorrow at Redcar and Cleveland College on Corporation Rd from 10am – 5pm.

First and second doses are available for 16 and 17-year-olds as long as there are 12 weeks between the two, and for all over 18s as long as there are eight weeks between the two.

Vaccinations are also available for 12–15-year-olds, who must have consent. Boosters will be administered to those 18+ if three months have passed since the second vaccine.

In addition to Covid vaccines, flu jabs will be available for those 65 and over or under 65s who are eligible. On-site parking is available.

A full list of the upcoming sessions is available on the Zetland FM Facebook page.

A clamp down on illegal parking across the borough is set to continue following irresponsible parking on double yellow lines at Newton-under-Roseberry over the New Year weekend.

Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council’s parking enforcement team regularly patrol the village, following the introduction of double yellow lines over the summer, however due to a number of positive cases of Covid-19 they were unable to send anyone out over the New Year period.

Unfortunately, some irresponsible motorists visiting the area parked illegally on double yellow lines in the village, putting other road users and pedestrians in danger.

Since the introduction of parking restrictions in the village residents have told the parking team that they are pleased that the double yellow lines are now in place..

Councillors are being asked to approve plans to extend Saltburn’s Cat Nab car park.

The plans, which were included in a car parking strategy published by Redcar and Cleveland Council last year, would create a further 34 spaces, including ten bays for disabled motorists.

Officers are recommending the extension to the seafront car park, which is adjacent to the junction of Saltburn Road and Saltburn Bank, is approved by members of the local authority’s regulatory committee.

The council's cabinet previously approved a £1m investment intended to pay for new car parking spaces in Saltburn with money from the Tees Valley Combined Authority-funded ‘Welcome to Redcar and Cleveland’ programme.
