Police are appealing for the public's help after festive Lights and decorations were damaged and stolen in Guisborough.

Christmas decorations and lights in gardens across the town were deliberately damaged, with some being stolen over the weekend.

It's believed that young people were involved in the incidents which happened on Saturday.

Enquiries are on-going and the town's neighbourhood police team is asking anyone with information or cctv or doorbell footage which could identify those responsible to get in touch via the non-emergency number 101.

Illegal vaping products apparently targeting children have been seized in a major crackdown across Middlesbrough.

The six-week operation by Middlesbrough Council's Trading Standards team has seen thousands of potentially dangerous devices removed from sale at various outlets.

The vapes are typically sold in brightly coloured packaging and with flavours and names such as strawberry or banana milkshake, Unicorn Shake and Tiger Blood to appeal to children and young people.

It is illegal to sell nicotine inhaling products and refills - popularly known as  e- cigarettes - to anyone under 18, and it is also illegal for anyone to purchase them on their behalf.

Redcar and Cleveland Borough has issued an update to local businesses following a government announcement of cash support for the hospitality and leisure sectors yesterday.

The council says they have not yet received the funds from Government, or guidance on how they should be distributed.

They say they are working hard to ensure that they can distribute funds to businesses as soon as possible but this will not happen before January.

Business owners are advised to check the council's website and social media feeds for the latest information.
