The mobile covid vaccination unit is in Brotton today, with jabs including boosters available with no appointment necessary.

The team will be on hand at Freebrough Academy on Linden Road from 10am – 5pm.

There will be flu jab available for over 65s (and those under 65 who are eligible), first and second COVID vaccinations for adults (as long as there are at least 8 weeks between the two)

First and second vaccinations for 16 and 17-year-olds are also available, and also 12–15-year-olds.

Booster jabs are also available.

A grade II listed building and the former home of Barclays Bank in Loftus is being restored to its former glory as part of a wider regeneration scheme.

The Council secured the freehold of the building in December 2019, with the goal of bringing it back to life and boosting community and business confidence in the high street.

Plans for the building feature four self-contained holiday let apartments on the upper levels with room to sleep 12 people in total, whilst the downstairs space will be marketed as a commercial opportunity for two new retail businesses.

Cleveland Police are continuing their annual drink and drive campaign in our area over the festive season.

516 drivers have been stopped so far across Cleveland during the Christmas drink and drug drive campaign, with 29 drivers found to be under the influence.

Police launched the campaign on 1st December for the festive period and have been urging drivers not to get behind the wheel under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

Posters and beer mats with stern warnings to drivers about "dicing with death" if driving intoxicated are being distributed across pubs in the Cleveland area.
