A man has been charged after a number of incidents in Hemlington.

The 29-year-old man has been charged with robbery, criminal damage a public order offence following the alleged incidents which occurred last week. 

The man was charged with an alleged robbery at the Viewley Centre on 10th October and an alleged incident on 14th October whereby local authority staff were allegedly abused and their vehicle damaged. 

The man appeared at Teesside Magistrates Court on Saturday.

 

A man is due to appear in court following an alleged incident at a bar in Middlesbrough at the weekend.

The 34-year-old man has been charged with burglary after the alleged incident at Mint Bar, on Albert Road, in the early hours of Sunday. 

The man is due to appear at Teesside Magistrates Court on Monday 1st November.

 

Police have been checking the road-worthiness of vehicles in our area.

Officers from Cleveland & Durham Roads Policing Unit and North Yorkshire Police alongside partners from the DVSA and Border force staff carried out an operation to ensure the safe carriage of dangerous goods throughout the Cleveland area.

The operation also included various other commercial vehicles carrying non-dangerous goods.

Over the course of three days last week, dozens of vehicle checks were carried out at Teesport and at Excelby Services.

Some of the defects that were found included a fuel leak, defective lights and issues with vehicle markings and documentation.

There were also a number of issues with insecure loads, cracked windscreens, defective tyres suspension and lights and vehicles carrying excess weight.
