Police searching for a missing Saltburn man have found a body.

54-year-old Sean Murphy was last seen on Saturday, and no-one had heard from him since.

Police issued a public appeal yesterday morning in a bid to try and bring him home with concerns increasing for his welfare.

However police have now confirmed the body of a man has been found in the search for Sean and his family have been informed.

The death is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner.

A spokesperson for Cleveland Police said a male is alleged to have made threats with a weapon described as a knife and has demanded money.

A 21-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of three counts of robbery.

Officers from Cleveland Police have been out at the weekend to carry out early morning rural crime patrols.

Officers were out early on Saturday morning conducting patrols after a recent increase in calls reporting nuisance off-road bikes and hare coursing in some of the more rural parts of our area.
