...and Police are appealing after a report that a firearm was discharged at a property in Ormesby.

 

A major road in our area was closed yesterday evening following an accident.

Emergency services were called to incident on the westbound carriageway of the A171 at Pinchinthorpe, close to the Cross Keys, at around 7pm yesterday evening.

Police, fire and ambulance attended the scene, which is believed to have involved a motorcyle.

Large queues of traffic built up at the scene.

It is not known if anyone was injured in the incident.

 

Police are appealing after a woman in her forties reported being robbed in Middlesbrough.

The woman, who was walking with a young child, was approached around 1pm on Saturday on the black path between Bluebell beck and Coatham Close in Hemlington.

The woman was reportedly pulled to the floor by her hair and a bag containing £350 in cash was stolen.

The suspect is described as a white male, tall, with short, light hair and of slightly heavy build. He was wearing a dark tracksuit and had a scar or mark above his left eyebrow.

Anyone who may have witnessed the incident or may have information is asked to contact Middlesbrough CID on the non-emergency number 101, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

 

Police are appealing after a report that a firearm was discharged at a property in Ormesby.

The incident is reported to have happened around 10:45pm on Ancroft Drive on Wednesday.

The firearm discharge caused damage to a front door.

Fortunately, no one was injured as the property was empty at the time.

Officers believed that the suspect was wearing a dark coloured tracksuit with lighter coloured trainers.

Anyone who may have information or CCTV which could assist the investigation is asked to contact Redcar and Cleveland CID on the non-emergency number 101.
