Police are appealing after a report that a 10-week-old Cockapoo puppy was stolen in Guisborough;

...and Police are warning residents to be aware of potential distraction burglars in the Newport area of Middlesbrough following an incident on Monday.

 

Police are appealing after a report that a 10-week-old Cockapoo puppy was stolen in Guisborough.

The puppy, named Ebony, was last seen on Sunday.

Ebony's owners are particularly concerned as she is not fully inoculated.

Officers are appealing to trace a woman seen in the area around Church Lane on Sunday. She is described as driving a silver Ford and having blonde hair, blue eyes and wearing a silver dress. There was also a child in the vehicle. It is believed that the woman may be able to assist police with their enquiries.

Anyone with further information is asked to contact Cleveland Police on the non-emergency number 101.

 

Coastguard and lifeboat teams have been called into action in our area following reports of a missing person at Redcar.

Just before 11pm on Tuesday the Redcar and Staithes Coastguard teams were tasked to reports of a missing person in the area between Majuba car park and the South Gare.

As the teams were beginning the search word came from Cleveland Police that the person had been located safe and well. 

The public are reminded that if you see anyone in trouble on the beach or cliffs you should dial 999 and ask for the Coastguard.

 

Police are warning residents to be aware of potential distraction burglars in the Newport area of Middlesbrough following an incident on Monday.

Two males reportedly distracted an elderly householder after claiming to have done work on the roof of the property. 

They are also believed to have offered plumbing services to gain access.

One male reportedly distracted the householder, while the other allegedly took a large amount of cash from the property. 

Anyone with information regarding the incident is asked to contact Cleveland Police on the non-emergency number 101, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
