The latest figures show that Redcar and Cleveland is now the area with the highest rate of Covid infections in the country;

...and Police are appealing for information after two women aged 18 and 20 were reportedly robbed whilst walking along a street in Middlesbrough.
The latest figures show that Redcar and Cleveland is now the area with the highest rate of Covid infections in the country.
Public Health England figures show that Redcar and Cleveland has seen 1,950 new cases in the seven days up to 15 July.
Middlesbrough has the second highest rate, with 1,806 new cases.
Redcar and Cleveland Council leader Mary Lanigan says more resources are needed to help with the vaccine roll-out amid record Covid-19 case rates in our area.
More cases were recorded in Redcar and Cleveland and Middlesbrough between July 1 and 15 than in any month previously - including at the pandemic's peak on Teesside in January.
Police are appealing for information on two separate incidents in which some kind of firearm was discharged at a property on Ainstable Road in Ormesby.
On the first occasion, at midnight on Sunday night into yesterday a weapon was discharged at the living room window and at an upper bedroom window causing no damage.
On the second occasion, around 10 minutes past midnight on Monday the weapon was discharged at close range at the front door.
One occupant sustained a slight pellet wound to his arm.
A man wearing a dark coloured Nike Air hoody with grey sleeves and black tracksuit bottoms was seen at the time however he was wearing a balaclava with a surgical mask over this.

Police are appealing for information after two women aged 18 and 20 were reportedly robbed whilst walking along a street in Middlesbrough.
The incident occurred on Parliament Road on Sunday at around 9:15pm when three men reportedly approached the women, threatened them with a knife and stole one of the ladies handbags which contained cash and personal items.
Two men aged 30 and 63 were arrested in connection with the incident shortly after and have been released pending enquiries.
