A busy main road in our area had to be closed yesterday lunchtime following a crash.

The B1380 High Street road in Eston had to be closed by emergency services following the incident, which happened shortly after midday yesterday at the junction with Birchington Avenue.

It is believed that two cars and a van were involved.

It is not known if anyone was injured in the incident.

Cleveland Police have confirmed that their Domestic Abuse cars will once again be on the road this weekend.

This weekend will be the 13th in a row that the Domestic Abuse cars are being used.

Staffed by a dedicated police officer and a specialist domestic abuse Support Worker, the cars travel across the area to on-going incidents, providing victims with immediate help, support and advice.

The cars are in addition to the support offered to victims of domestic abuse and although they are deployed for on-going incidents, domestic abuse can also be reported to police via the 101 number, or 999 in an emergency.

It's been announced that a well-used footpath in Saltburn will be closed during the early part of next week.

From Monday, the steps between the lower promenade and Marine Parade adjacent to the cliff tramway will be closed to allow new handrails to be installed.

The work is expected to be completed by the middle of the week.

Alternative footpaths are available, including via Saltburn Bank.

However the Saltburn Cliff Tramway is currently unavailable, as it remains closed due to COVID 19 restrictions.
