Police have arrested a man on suspicion of murder after a man's body was found in our area earlier this year.

The 41-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder in connection with the death of 39-year-old Tomasz Dembler, whose body was discovered in woodland near to Flatts Lane Country Park on Monday 12th April.

The man is currently in police custody.

Six people have so far been charged with the alleged murder of Tomasz.

They appeared in court in April this year.

Officers have issued an appeal to trace the owners of a suspected stolen bike.

Police are appealing to trace the owners of the Talon Giant mountain bike which was recovered from a property on Turner Street in Redcar earlier this month.

Anyone who believes that they may be the owner or may know who the bike belongs to, is asked to contact police on the non-emergency number 101, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

Members of the public are being reminded that it is Armed Forces Day this coming Saturday.

The annual event is an opportunity for members of the public to show their appreciation for our Armed Forces.

This year there will also be the change to see a Second World War Dakota aircraft as it flies over the High Street in memory of the Battle of Britain.

People are reminded to maintain social distancing, as the plane will be clearly visible at both the east end of the High Street and the seafront.

The event will also be livestreamed on Facebook for those who want to watch it from home.

The official opening will take place at 11am and the Dakota will arrive at 2.15pm.
