Police are appealling for the public's help following a collision in Saltburn;

A man has been charged after a police officer was reportedly assaulted in Grangetown;

...and a police dog was used to assist officers with catching a suspected burglar in our area.

 

Police are appealling for the public's help following a collision in Saltburn.

The incident occurred at 1:30pm on Sunday and involved a cyclist and a stationary grey Skoda vehicle near to the Drift surf shop on Windsor Road in Saltburn.

The 39-year-old male cyclist suffered a broken jaw and collar bone and a fractured back and he was taken to James Cook University Hospital for treatment.

Anyone with information regarding the collision is asked to contact Cleveland Police on the non-emergency number 101.

 

A man has been charged after a police officer was reportedly assaulted in Grangetown.

The 22-year-old man has been charged with Section 18 GBH with intent to resist arrest and with breach of a restraining order.

He was arrested after an alleged incident in Westcroft Road in Grangetown on Wednesday afternoon in which a police officer was reported to have been assaulted.

The man is due to appear at Teesside Magistrates’ Court later today.

 

A police dog was used to assist officers with catching a suspected burglar in our area.

During the early hours of Wednesday morning, officers were called to a report of an attempted burglary at Asda on North Street in South Bank and attended the scene with police dog Rocky.

A 30-year-old man was located nearby by Rocky who caught up with him after he reportedly ran away.

The man was arrested in connection with the incident and has been released pending further enquiries.
