Detectives investigating an alleged incident at a local school and an earlier alleged aggravated burglary (which were believed to be linked) have charged three men;

...and a person has been taken to hospital and a section of the busy A19 closed following a multi-vehicle crash and a large fuel spillage.

 

Detectives investigating an alleged incident at a local school and an earlier alleged aggravated burglary (which were believed to be linked) have charged three men.

An 18-year-old man, a 27-year-old man and a 28-year-old man were charged with various offences relating to the incident, which happened on Friday at Berwick Hills Primary School on Westerdale Road in Middlesbrough.

The men were remanded in custody and appeared at Teesside Magistrates' Court yesterday.

The cases of all three men have now been referred to Teesside Crown Court where they will appear on June 14th.

They were all remanded in custody until that date.

 

Police attended a street in Redcar yesterday morning.

It is understood that two properties on Lawrence Street in Redcar had their doors removed by officers during what is thought to be raids shortly before 9am yesterday morning.

An end of terrace house on the street had its front door removed with an officer standing on patrol outside.

It is understood a second property also had its door removed during the same incident.

The exact nature of the incident is not yet known.

 

A person has been taken to hospital and a section of the busy A19 closed following a multi-vehicle crash and a large fuel spillage.

The crash involved two heavy goods vehicles, including a diesel tanker, on northbound carriageway close to the OK Diner north of the A689 exit around shortly after 10am yesterday.

Police closed the road at 10.10am and remained closed for the rest of the day and overnight.

A casualty was taken to North Tees University Hospital in Stockton, the extent of their injuries is not yet known.
