A 30-year-old man has been arrested after he was found in possession of drugs and a sword in the Newport area of Middlesbrough;

Police are appealing after a ram raid at a shop on Kings Road, North Ormesby, in the early hours of yesterday morning;

...and today marks the end of Mental Health Awareness Week, and the public are being reminded of the support that is available in Redcar and Cleveland.

 

A 30-year-old man has been arrested after he was found in possession of drugs and a sword in the Newport area of Middlesbrough. 

The man was stopped on Peel Street around 12:40pm on Wednesday and found to be in possession of suspected class A and class C drugs. 

The sword was located in his trouser leg, following a search. 

The man was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply class A and C drugs and possession of an offensive weapon. 

He has been released under investigation, whilst enquiries continue. 

Anyone with concerns or information regarding drugs activity in their local area is asked to contact Cleveland Police on the non-emergency number 101. 

 

Police are appealing after a ram raid at a shop on Kings Road, North Ormesby, in the early hours of yesterday morning.

The incident happened around twenty to one yesterday morning, and involved a small white Peugeot Partner van.

Extensive damage was caused to the FoneFix shop, and officers are working to establish what was taken from the store.

The white van made off from the scene in the direction of Borough Road and officers are appealing to anyone who may have seen it.

Any witnesses or anyone who may have CCTV footage is asked to contact Middlesbrough CID on the non-emergency number 101, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

 

Today marks the end of Mental Health Awareness Week, and the public are being reminded of the support that is available in Redcar and Cleveland.
