Three men have been arrested in connection with a number of alleged burglaries in the Saltburn area.

Officers received a report of a 2 in 1 burglary on Princes Road overnight on Monday into the early hours of Tuesday, where a white Ford Focus was stolen along with a pedal cycle.

The same evening, three motorbikes were stolen from an address on Cambridge Street and there was also a report of a burglary at The Spa Hotel, where nothing was taken.

The suspected stolen white Ford Focus was recovered following a short pursuit in New Marske on Tuesday evening, and three males aged 21, 23 and 28 were arrested in connection with the incidents, and a number of other suspected offences.

The men remain in police custody at this time and enquiries are ongoing.

Emergency services were called to an area of Nunthorpe following an incident yesterday evening.

Ambulance crews and police officers were on scene in a field just off Gypsy Lane in Nunthorpe near to the railway station from around 6pm.

No official details of the incident have yet been released.

A cyclist has been taken to hospital after being involved in a collision yesterday afternoon.

The crash happened shortly after 3pm yesterday on Springfield Road at Whinney Banks, with emergency services and the Great North Air Ambulance helicopter responding.

Witnesses at the scene said the cyclist involved was a teenager, and that he reportedly sustained a leg and head injury.

Police closed the road as inquiries were carried out but all emergency services, including the GNAA helicopter, had left the scene by around 4pm.
