Police swarmed a Middlesbrough estate after a suspected shooting at a front door.
Officers were called to Pallister Avenue in Brambles Farm at about 7.10pm on Wednesday.
A video posted to social media showed crowds gathered behind a police cordon, with a number of force cars and vans in the street.
Cleveland Police have now confirmed they are investigating a suspected shooting.

Specialist detectives from the Cleveland and North Yorkshire Cold Case Unit launched a murder investigation last year after a thorough review of the case.
The investigation has continued into the circumstances of Stevens disappearance, with appeals to the public for help.
Detective Chief Inspector Shaun Page is the Senior Investigating Officer, and he is continuing the appeal for information to help find Steven Clarke, who went missing from Marske in 1992.
Police are appealing for witnesses and information after a Land Rover was stolen.
North Yorkshire Police say the theft of a Land Rover Defender 90 from Aislaby, near Whitby, occurred at around 5.20pm on Monday.
Officers suspect that the red Defender was driven along the A171 from Whitby towards Guisborough following the theft.
Anyone with information that could assist the investigation should contact North Yorkshire Police on the non-emergency number 101.
