Police have released more information following a search in woodland in our area.
At around 3.25pm on Monday afternoon, police received a call to say that two members of the public had found what they believed to be a body in woodland near to Flatts Lane in Normanby.
Officers attended the scene, alongside specialist forensic support staff, and a body was recovered.
Detectives are looking into the circumstances surrounding the death, and an investigation has been launched, which is at an early stage.
Police remain at the scene whilst the investigation continues.

Police have revealed why a Redcar school was locked down after reports of a girl armed with a knife.
On Monday officers attended Outwood Academy in Redcar after a call from concerned staff who believed a girl was in possession of a weapon nearby.
Pupils were told to stay inside as police were seen inside the grounds.
Police say that they received a call at around 2.30pm on Monday from concerned staff at a local school who reported a female youth possibly in possession of a knife on Kirkleatham Lane in Redcar.
Officers attended and later spoke with the female and it was established that a knife had not been seen and no offences had taken place.
The volunteer crew of the Redcar RNLI lifeboat have been called into action in our area.
Just after 4pm yesterday afternoon, the alarm was raised following a report of person in difficulties in the sea at Redcar.
The IB1 lifeboat was launched and the crew carried out a brief search of the area.
However nothing was found and the crew returned to the lifeboat station.
The incident has been classified as a false alarm with good intent.
