Police are appealing for information as they investigate an incident of arson in Hemlington.
The incident happened around 9pm on Tuesday, when the Fire Brigade were called to a property on Cramlington Close.
Fortunately, no one was in the property at the time of the fire.
Detectives are now appealing to anyone with information, including any witnesses and anyone who may have private CCTV or dash cam footage in the local area, to contact them.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Middlesbrough CID on the non-emergency number 101.
A kitten which was taken from an animal shelter in our area yesterday has been returned.
The black and white kitten was removed from the shelter on Tuesday by a man who climbed over the fence in order to take it.
CCTV video footage showing the incident had thousands of views on social media.
Posting on Facebook, staff at the shelter thanked everyone who helped to get the kitten back.
Cleveland Police are continuing their investigations into the incident.

And now it's set to attract new fans from far and wide thanks to a £250,000 cash injection.
