A further 111 coronavirus cases have been recorded on Teesside.
The highest daily rise in covid-19 cases was in Middlesbrough where there were 46 new infections.
That was followed by Stockton with 27.
Here in Redcar and Cleveland there were a further 20.
Teesport will become the UK's first - and largest - free port after a landmark announcement by the Chancellor in yesterday's Budget.
Rishi Sunak said Teesport would be granted the 'game changer' status, in a move that will bring thousands of jobs and a £3.4bn boost to the area.
A free port is an area which is either a shipping port or an airport where goods do not incur import taxes.
It also brings major tax breaks for companies operating within the free port zone.
A scheme which sees smart chips installed on wheelie bins in our area has been paused.
Redcar & Cleveland Borough Council has installed a small number of Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) tags to a number of wheelie bins with an aim to bring more efficiency to bin round collections.
The tags can be used as a way of checking if all bins on a round have been processed. They can also provide data on recycling rates across the borough, as well as providing a way of reuniting misplaced bins to their rightful home.
A total of 720 bins had the microchips installed, which has cost the council £648.
The council will now pause the implementation of the scheme as it will be considered by councillors as part of a broader recycling strategy which will be finalised in the summer.
