The latest daily figures show that a further 242 people have tested positive for coronavirus on Teesside.

Data released by Public Health England on Wednesday showed that the highest daily rise was in Middlesbrough where there were 81 new confirmed cases.

In Stockton there were 68 new cases, whilst here in Redcar and Cleveland there have been a further 50.

 

Police have appealed for the public's help after a police vehicle was damaged outside a property in Redcar.

Officers received a report of criminal damage to the vehicle on Tuesday at 4:30pm.

The vehicle was parked outside of a property on Micklow Close in Redcar when it was vandalised and damaged.

Graffiti was spray painted onto the vehicle, and the radio antenna was also ripped from the vehicle.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Cleveland Police on the non-emergency number 101, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

 

Officers are appealing for witnesses to a collision involving a vehicle and a 10-year-old boy on an electric scooter in Middlesbrough.

The incident happened around 2:10pm on Tuesday on Trimdon Avenue in Middlesbrough and involved a black BMW 1 series.

The boy was taken to James Cook University Hospital where it was confirmed that he had suffered a broken leg.
