The latest figures show that there have been another 157 cases of Covid-19 confirmed on Teesside.

The data which was released yesterday by Public Health England showed that Stockton recorded the highest increase in cases with another 53 people contracting coronavirus.

In Middlesbrough there were a further 45 cases, whilst here in Redcar and Cleveland there have been a further 29.

Two people who were arrested as part of the investigation into missing Steven Clark have been released without charge in a major update in the cold case probe into his alleged murder.

23 year old Steven, from Marske, vanished on December 28, 1992, after going into public toilets in Saltburn whilst out walking with his parents.

His disappearance has remained unexplained since then, and Cleveland Police reopened the case and launched a murder investigation last year.

Last year two people were arrested arrested on suspicion of murder, and bailed.

Their home was also searched by officers.

The force later confirmed two people had been released under investigation in December.

Yesterday it was confirmed that the two people have been released without charge.

The investigation into Steven’s disappearance is still ongoing, and detectives are continuing to appeal to the public for information to assist the case.

A busy road between Skelton and Saltburn had to be closed after a crash yesterday evening.

Police closed Hob Hill Lane and Guisborough Road at Four Lane Ends just after 5pm, after what is understood to have been a collision between two cars on the road.

Reports on social media suggest that a Ford Fiesta and a Mercedes car were involved.

It is not yet known if anyone was injured in the incident.
