The latest figures from Public Health have shown a further 152 new covid-19 cases have been recorded on Teesside in the latest 24 hour period.
Figures released yesterday show that Middlesbrough recorded the highest increase, with 58, whilst Stockton saw a further 49.
Here in Redcar and Cleveland there were a further 31 new cases.
A busy road out of our area had to be closed following a crash at the weekend.
The A171 was closed by North Yorkshire Police on Saturday morning, between Scaling Dam and the turn off for Runswick Bay and Sandsend.
Police were asking motorists to find an alternative route following the crash.
It is not clear how many vehicles were involved in the incident.
Police have warned the public to be vigilant after a fraudster impersonated a police officer and targeted a victim in Middlesbrough over the phone.
It comes after two reports of a similar nature were reported to the Force last month.
Zetland FM's Stuart Clarkson said:
"A fraudster contacted the victim over the phone and claimed to be a police officer from Middlesbrough.
They told the victim that her bank account had been jeopardised and she was advised to transfer her money to a police bank account.
The victim did this and transferred £2,000.
Cleveland Police would like to make it clear that officers or banks would never ask you to withdraw or transfer cash or give money to a courier to pick up.
If you receive an unexpected call where someone asks for your bank details or for you to withdraw cash, put the phone down and report the incident to police."
