Following an alarming rise in the number of complaints about the North East Ambulance Service (NEAS), Redcar Constituency MP, Ian Swales, is taking action.

In 2012 when changes to the service were announced, Ian Swales expressed concern that Teesside would suffer. His prediction seems to have come true as hoards of local people share their ambulance stories.

Ian is campaigning at the highest level to bring back a locally based service which delivers for local people.

Ian commented on his campaign:

"I have heard too many stories of waiting times up to six hours long; ambulances getting lost and being poorly directed; and poor classification of serious accidents.

"Two years ago I foresaw the problems that moving the call centre out of this area would cause.

"That’s why I’m campaigning at the top level for local services to be reinstated and improved response times in our area. NHS spending has been protected in real terms by this Government – so there’s no reason why we should be getting less for our money.

"Too often has Teesside lost out when services have moved to Newcastle. Healthcare is too important for compromise."
