The latest figures released yesterday by Public Health England, have recorded more Covid-19 cases in all four local authority areas across Teeside.

162 of those who tested positive for the virus were in Stockton.

Middlesbrough also saw an increase of 116 more cases.

Here in Redcar and Cleveland there were 75 new positive results.

A person was left trapped in a vehicle after a two-car crash on a road in Middlesbrough.

The incident happened around 10.40pm on Saturday night when a saloon type car and a hatchback collided on Marton Burn Road, in Grove Hill.

Three fire engines, an ambulance and police cars all attended and a person had to be cut from the hatchback and was taken to hospital.

The road was closed while the crews worked at the incident.

A young woman was left in utter shock and disgust after being spat on by a gang of kids on Redcar seafront.

The woman was eating a salad box on Redcar seafront while waiting to be collected by a friend when she was approached by the group of children who were of secondary school age.

She was asked a series of bizarre questions, before the youngsters spat on her and ran off.

The spittle landed on her shoe, which she managed to clean off, before she reported the incident to police.
