The number of Coronavirus cases in our area has again shown an increase over the weekend;
Police have taken action to remove a car which was being driven dangerously from the roads in our area;
...and a 41 year old man is to appear at court after a suspected cannabis drying facility was discovered inside a house in Middlesbrough.
The number of Coronavirus cases in our area has again shown an increase over the weekend.
According to the latest figures published yesterday by Public Health England, there are currently 212 confirmed cases in Redcar and Cleveland, out of a local population of just under 137,000 people.
That's up from 202 cases on Friday.
There are currently 367 cases confirmed in Middlesbrough, a figure which has also risen, up from 346 on Friday.
Police have taken action to remove a car which was being driven dangerously from the roads in our area.
On Saturday Redcar Neighbourhood Police Team seized a silver Nissan Primera which had been abandoned in Micklow Close in Redcar.
Police had received reports on Friday evening of same vehicle being driven dangerously around the Lakes estate and Dormanstown areas - including on grassed areas which may have put the public at risk.
The vehicle was also found to be uninsured and was removed from the roads by officers.
A 41 year old man is to appear at court after a suspected cannabis drying facility was discovered inside a house in Middlesbrough.
Officers attended the address on Garsdale Green at Pallister Park early on Saturday evening and discovered what is believed to be £1.4 million of cannabis, dried and prepared for distribution.
The man was questioned by Middlesbrough CID and charged yesterday afternoon with being concerned in the production of a controlled drug of Class B.
He was remanded, to appear at Teesside Magistrates’ Court later today.
