Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council say they are working closely with Public Health England after a Redcar and Cleveland resident was confirmed as having tested positive for COVID-19.
The resident had visited an affected country and on their return followed appropriate advice and immediately self-isolated after calling the NHS 111 helpline.
Health officials say that the person is self-isolating and there are no further public health actions required.
Police have named a man who died in a collision on the A171 at Guisborough at the weekend.
42-year-old Andrew Ainsworth sadly died in the collision on the A171 Guisborough bypass in the early hours of Sunday morning.
A 27-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and has been released under investigation while inquiries continue.
Police are appealing for anyone with information to contact the Cleveland and Durham Specialist Operations Unit on the non-emergency number 101.
Saltburn's cliff lift has been awarded a national tourism accolade.
For the second year in a row, the lift has been awarded a VisitEngland Welcome Accolade by national assessors after receiving a 91% quality score in its inspection, 5% more than the year previous.
The VisitEngland Assessment Report said that the tramway experience was novel and interesting as well as providing a practical way to get up and down the steep hill, and that the team of staff enhanced the experience with their knowledge which they were happy to share.
