Police have arrested a man after a body was found in Middlesbrough.

Officers were called to an incident in Grange Road in the town just after 3pm yesterday where a body was discovered.

A 31-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder and currently remains in custody.

Police have been examining the scene and the investigation is said to be in its early stages.

Road policing officers in our area have arrested a man suspected of being involved in a burglary.

A Vauxhall Vectra vehicle was located in South Bank by the police armed response vehicle, which was suspected to be linked to a commercial burglary that had just taken place in Middlesbrough.

The vehicle contained tools which were seized for forensic examination and one man was arrested on suspicion of burglary.

New government figures have revealed that boys are expelled at least four times more often than girls from our area's state-run schools.

The latest government figures from the Department for Education have unveiled a huge gender disparity when it comes to exclusions and suspensions in our area's council-controlled schools.

In Redcar and Cleveland last year 512 boys were suspended from school, compared to 249 girls.

11 boys were excluded from school in our borough, compared to just one girl.

Teaching unions have blamed a one-size-fits-all curriculum and exam system for the statistics.
