Police were called to an incident at Teesside Park yesterday after a gas canister exploded;

...and the volunteer crew of the Redcar RNLI lifeboat was called into action at the weekend.

 

The volunteers from the Cleveland Mountain Rescue Team were called into action three times over the weekend.

The duty callout officer was contacted by Cleveland Police at 10pm on Saturday requesting assistance to potential search locations West of Eston Transmitter at Eston Nab.

Then just after 11.30 yesterday morning the team were called out by the North East Ambulance Service to attend a person part way up Roseberry Topping who needed medical assistance after a family member had raised the alarm.

A Hazardous Area Response Team had also been despatched to the location, and after some attention the casualty was assisted to walk back to the car park at Newton under Roseberry.

Finally just after 6 o'clock yesterday evening the team were called out by the Yorkshire Ambulance Service to a man who had collapsed near Rievaulx.

The team responder with their 2 Land Rovers and met up with the ambulance crew who took the casualty to hospital.

 

Police were called to an incident at Teesside Park yesterday after a gas canister exploded.

The incident occured at around ten to eleven yesterday morning after it was reported a gas canister had exploded inside the Hog Roast Company van.

Officers attended the scene with the Fire Brigade and the Ambulance Service.

One woman suffered minor injuries however no one else was injured.

Roads into Teesside Park were closed and the surrounding areas were evacuated as a safety precaution.

The retail park was reopened at around half past midday.

 

The volunteer crew of the Redcar RNLI lifeboat was called into action at the weekend.

Just before 3pm on Saturday a call was received from a boat which had broken down.

The Atlantic 85 lifeboat was launched and towed the broken down boat back to Redcar,

The lifeboat was then able to return to the lifeboat station.
