Police in Marske have removed an unsafe vehicle from the roads.

Posting on their Facebook page, officers from the Redcar Town Neighbourhood Policing Team reported that on Friday they recieved a number of calls from members of the public of a car driving in an anti social manner around Marske.

Officers quickly attended the area and located the vehicle.

It was seized under police powers and the male driver was reported for summons for driving offences.

Plans to build 75 houses on the outskirts of Saltburn have been rejected.

The new homes on a site close to Saltburn Riding School had been recommended for approval by council officers provided certain conditions were met.

However at a meeting of Redcar and Cleveland Council’s Regulatory Committee on Thursday members disagreed saying the plans did not meet the requirements of the emerging local plan.

Members voted, nine votes to three, to reject the plans.

Today is 'Bring Out Your Dross' Day for residents of Lazenby.

Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council are holding the event where bulky waste items are collected for free between 8:30am and 1pm.

To reduce the risk of arson, residents are asked not put out their dross outside these times.

Residents are also being asked not to obstruct footpaths and that asbestos, demolition or building materials will not be collected.
