Police in Redcar say that they have had a busy few days dealing with calls relating to nuisance vehicles;

Police in Redcar say that they have had a busy few days dealing with calls relating to nuisance vehicles.
On Saturday a motorbike was recovered on Longbeck Road Marske after reports that it had been driven on bridal ways and foot paths nearly colliding with children who were leaving school.
Yesterday morning traffic officers seized a Vauxhall Astra on South Avenue in Dormanstown due to the driver having no insurance.
Yesterday afternoon police received reports of motorbikes being driven on Roseberry field and recklessly in the surrounding area.
This resulted in two motorbikes being seized using police powers.
Officers are now currently working in partnership with the local authorities and housing providers to identify the persons responsible and to deliver community protection notices, criminal behaviour orders and antisocial behaviour agreements.
Officers have increased patrols in Redcar following an increase in burglaries in the town.
The number of break-ins to sheds and garages has increased over the last couple of months and as a result, police have had plain-clothes patrols along with neighbourhood police officers and the operational crime team in the area to seek out the perpetrators and offer reassurance to the public.
Officers are working with the local authority antisocial behaviour officer to identify and deal with those responsible.
Police have made several arrests of youths responsible for shoplifting in the area and will be looking to see if there is a correlation between the shoplifting offences in and around the area, with the increase in antisocial behaviour, criminal damage and burglaries to sheds and garages.
Officers are advising members of the public not to put themselves at risk but to report any incidents directly to police who will investigate the matter.
Triathletes looking to test themselves against some of the best in the country are being encouraged to confirm their place in the Redcar Sprint Triathlon.
The 2018 Redcar Triathlon is taking place on Sunday 29th July, and it will be the second year in succession that the event will be a qualifier for the World Championships, with the fastest competitors in their age category booking their place to the 2019 event in the Swiss city of Lausanne.
Last year, more than 500 of the UK’s best triathletes took part in a bracing 750m swim in the North Sea, a 20K bike ride and a 5K run as they fought tooth and nail to claim their spots in the Team GB squad.
Spectators are invited to come along and cheer on the competitors in what promises to be a great day out for all the family.
