...and it may be the final week of October, but there is still time to take part in the 'Stoptober' campaign.
Police are appealing for information after a collision between a stolen motorbike and a van in Redcar yesterday.
The incident occurred at 3.15pm at the junction of Kirkleatham Lane and Corporation Road.
Two men who were riding a stolen black motorbike were spotted by police officers weaving in and out of traffic before jumping a red light and colliding with an oncoming van.
One man was detained and arrested at the scene whilst the other made off in the direction of Coatham Marshes.
Police say that both men were extremely lucky to walk away from this incident, which highlights the dangers of riding motorcycles erratically, without protective clothing and which are not fit for purpose.
Anyone with information about the incident or the men involved is asked to contact the non-emergency number 101.
Volunteers from the Cleveland Mountain Rescue Team were called into action at the weekend.
At around half past three on Saturday a 13 year old mountain biker from Guisborough came off his bike and sustained leg and shoulder injuries whilst cycling with his friend on the mountain bike tracks above Pinchinthorpe in Hanging Stone Wood.
The boys friend immediately alerted the ambulance service who in turn alerted the volunteer mountain rescue team.
The team were led into the incident site by the injured boy's friend and were able to treat his injuries before carrying him to a nearby land rover on a specialised mountain rescue stretcher.
He was then transported to Holme Farm at Hutton Village and handed over to a waiting ambulance.
A dozen team members were involved in the rescue that lasted just less than two hours.
It may be the final week of October, but there is still time to take part in the 'Stoptober' campaign.
Smokers are being encouraged to quit the habit during October, to help them switch to a healthy lifestyle change and save money.
On average, those who quit smoking save around £250 per month.
