Police are renewing their appeals for information after a local businessman was shot and beaten with baseball bats;

...and police are trying to find toys and electronics that were taken from a home in Grangetown.

 

Police are renewing their appeals for information after a local businessman was shot and beaten with baseball bats.

It happened early last Tuesday on Murdock Road in Skippers Lane industrial estate.

Four men in a navy blue Volkswagen Golf used baseball bats to attack the victim before shooting him in the leg.

Later at around ten o'clock police discovered the car on fire in woods near Saltburn.

He was taken to hospital for treatment but his injuries aren't believed to be life threatening.

Police are urging anyone with information or dash cam footage of the Volkswagen to call them on 101.

The silver Vauxhall was left on the beach near The Ship Inn while the owners were visiting the town.

The coastguard were called around midday when the car was stuck in the sea with waves washing over the bonnet.

It was recovered almost four hours later by the coastguard and police.

But after several similar calls both services have made it very clear that it's not their priority to deal with stranded vehicles.

 

Police are trying to find toys and electronics that were taken from a home in Grangetown.

They include an electric go-kart, a brand new toy helicopter, two Nintendo DS consoles and a white Samsung tablet.

The burglary happened sometime between the 22nd and the 25th of June.

Anyone with information or anyone who's been offered the items for sale is asked to call the police on 101.
