Redcar’s week of events marking the sacrifice and dedication of Britain's Armed Forces comes to an end tomorrow.

The flag was raised on Monday and week will end on Saturday which is Armed Forces Day.

The High Street will see past, present and future members of the forces united together to remember fallen heroes.

This morning a parade will take place in the High Street at 10:20.

It will be followed by speeches, hymns, a choir and even a Spitfire to commemorate the Battle of Britain.

Police are holding a property marking event in Saltburn tomorrow.

Residents can get a free etching to help keep anything from bicycles to mobile phones out of the hands of criminals.

The etchings not only reunite owners with their property, but also help provide evidence to convict the thief.

The event takes place on Saturday between 10am and 12pm near the hut at Saltburn allotments.

Arrangements for this year's Festival of Thrift at Kirkleatham Museum are now underway.

The theme for the fifth annual event focuses on growing and the power of nature.

Visitors can learn how to live sustainably by getting creative while saving money and saving the environment.

New highlights for 2017 include a mystery tour in a converted double decker bus, ideas for creating thrifty ceremonies and the chance to become a citizen of Cardboardia

The event takes place on September 23 and 24 at Kirkleatham Museum.
