Cleveland Police have issued a statement in an effort to reassure the public following the recent terror attacks.
In a statement released yesterday, the Assistant Chief Constable Jason Harwin said that the force is providing officers to support colleagues in other parts of the country as they deal with the aftermath of these attacks.
They are also continuing to do their part in our area.
He said that patrols of both armed and unarmed officers out during the coming days, including when the country goes to the polls on Thursday.
Anyone who sees any suspicious activity should report it to the police or to the anti-terrorism hotline on 0800 789 321.
Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council have agreed to maintain the area's mobile library service after a public consultation.
They're planning on developing it as a support centre for customer advice.
The council also agreed to keep open Loftus library and Roseberry Square library for 31 hours a week instead of the proposed 14 hours.
More options to cut costs include using new technology like electronic book readers.
The new plan is set to save the library almost three hundred thousand pounds a year.
And a Redcar recycling firm is set to create 20 new jobs.
Biffa Polymers is adding a new recycling line as part of a seven million pound investment.
It's also been modernised throughout and had materials upgraded.
It'll allow the company to double its output of plastic which is used to make milk bottles and food trays.
Now the facility - which operates 365 days a year - is creating 20 new jobs.
