Police have now said that the circumstances surrounded a Redcar rape aren't as they first reported.

Last Friday a woman reported that two men forced her and her toddler into the back of a car near the boating lake.

She told police she was taken to Yearby where she was raped before being forced out of the vehicle on Kirkleatham Lane almost six hours later.

Now after a almost a week's enquiries, police are no longer looking for two men.

Instead they're looking into an alleged rape involving two people who may know each other.

Anyone who may have seen a woman and toddler near Roseberry Road in Redcar between 4pm and 6pm is asked to contact Cleveland Police on non-emergency number 101.

A marking event is being held today in Guisborough to help keep residents' property out of the hands of criminals.

Residents can get a free etching to help keep anything from bicycles to mobile phones safe.

The etchings not only reunite owners with their property but also help provide evidence to convict thieves.

And the marking itself could be enough to deter a criminal simply because of their permanent appearance.

The event will be held at the old ambulance station in Guisborough today between two o'clock and five o'clock.

The Inspiring Women Awards return to Redcar today to recognise oustanding women from across the area.

The event takes place in the Bellamy Pavillion at Kirkleatham Museum at half past four.

The awards were set up last year by Anna Turley in memory of late MP Mo Mowlam.

And once again it will be hosted by Zetland FM's very own Julie Donaldson.
