Non-League Day Announced for 2015
National event date is set for October 10th 2015
Following the record-breaking event last year, Non-League Day will return for a sixth consecutive season on Saturday 10th October 2015. With England playing on Saturday during the September international break, the October date provides a platform for clubs to promote the importance of volunteer-led community football, while empowering fans to show support for their local non-league side.
Once again, we are partnering with Prostate Cancer UK (PCUK) in an effort to raise funds for, and awareness of, an illness that affects thousands of men in Britain every year. This year, PCUK will be asking clubs and fans to ‘pledge their allegiance’ to non-league football and Men United. The pledge can be financial or promotional; from holding a bucket collection to tweeting photos of support.
Non-League Day will continue its annual link-up with Kick It Out, raising awareness of issues, promoting equality and challenging all aspects of discrimination at all levels of the game. This year, Bromsgrove Rovers, Salford City, Boreham Wood and Aldershot Town have been chosen as our showpiece promotional games.
Finally, for the first time, Scottish non-league clubs have been invited to take part. With a thriving semi-professional and amateur scene, playing in some of the most picturesque locations in Britain, this expansion will add a new and exciting dimension to the day.
With lots of high quality sides throughout Redcar & Cleveland its a chance to catch some fantastic football at a local level.
