Banks raid Middleton for 16 as Teesside League kicks off!
A new-look 19 club single division Teesside League began with a 16-1 victory for defending champions Whinney Banks on Saturday.
Whinney bounced back from Monday's Madden Trophy 3 – 0 defeat by Redcar Town in style at Middleton Rangers. Lee Mahon scored six times, Liam Thompson notched a hat trick, Shaun Campbell and Jordon Wilson a brace with Jack Campbell, Mark Dolan and Ben Hugill also on target, Steven Hughes scored the Middleton consolation.
Redcar Town followed up their Madden Trophy victory with a narrow 1-0 victory over Nunthorpe Athletic, Lewis Reeve scoring the only goal of the game after only eight minutes,
League Runners-up BEADS beat Billingham Synthonia 8-2 with Carl Lilly scoring a hat trick, Michael Shellard a brace, Paul Crager, David Aninakwah and Mark Sowerby also scored, Andrew Davies and Josh Turner replied.
Thirsk Falcons had to come from behind before beating St Mary’s College 5-2 with Stuart Rose scoring a hat trick, Gareth Barber and Rob Fountain also scored, Jonathan Squires opened for St Mary’s, with Ben Cotts also on target.
Stockton West End won 5-3 at Grangetown Boys Club, Eddie Dasey scored a hat trick, Ben Turner a brace, Jack Connor, Liam Cooper and an OG were the Boys Club scorers.
Yarm FC pulled of a shock 3-1 victory at out of sorts Thornaby Dubliners, Jack Dalton opened for Yarm, James Hackett pulled it back to 1-1, but two last minutes goals from Matthew Jones and Tom Booth secured the Yarm victory.
Fishburn Park drew 1-1 with Boro Rangers who opened through Jamie Bellamy, but James Organ-Simpson secured Fishburn a point.
