Redcar Athletic score five for the second time in four days
Redcar Athletic have scored five goal for the second time in four days in a 5-1 victory against Ashbrook Belfort House.
The first goal came in the 18th minute from a tidy Michael Woodhouse chip that ended up in the back of the net.
Woodhouse then put his team ahead further ahead 90 seconds later after rounding the keeper, before turning provider for Lewis Wood to make it three.
Adam Preston put Athletic 4-0 up with a low shot from the edge of the area finding the back of the next, before completing his brace a minute into stoppage time.
Five minutes after the restart, Ashbrook pulled a goal back, thanks to a Lee Owens strike in to the corner of the net.
But, any chance of a comeback was snuffed out a minute later, as Ashbrook midfielder, David Scott, was sent off for dissent, after protesting a Redcar free kick.
Athletic tried to take advantage of the extra man, and in the 70th minute were offered a penalty for a foul on Lewis Wood in the box.
After a weak shot from Lance Skelton, the Ashbrook keeper, Brett Wilson, dived correctly and managed to smother the ball.
Athletics last chance of the game came in the 86th minute with a deflected free kick falling to Adam Preston, who was denied a hat-trick, following another smart save from the Ashbrook shot stopper.
