Redcar Town are celebrating after landing the Burness Plate on Easter Monday.

Redcar Town 3 (J Butters, S Poulter 2), Yarm FC 1 (R Edemenson)

Redcar Town won their first of what could be three pieces of silverware with hard fought victory against Yarm FC who were reduced to ten men after fifteen minutes when Matt Bayston was shown a red card for handball, Josh Butters scoring from the penalty.

The ten men of Yarm matched Redcar Town until midway through the second half when a second penalty was awarded when Stuart Poulter was fouled, he stepped up to stroke home to make it 2-0, Rob Edemenson pulled it back to 2-1 with a powerful header from a corner.

The Redcar Town keeper pulled off a great save to keep his side in the lead but with ten minutes remaining, substitute Joe Minto was sent off with Poulter breaking away with five minutes remaining to make it a final score of 3-1.
