Guisborough remain a point behind top side West Auckland in a fascinating Northern League title race, following Saturday's 3-1 win over Celtic Nation.

By Guisborough Town manager Chris Hardy

Saturday's fixture versus Celtic nation had banana skin written all over it, that wasn't the way the game started after taking a one goal lead it looked like we would go from strength to strength, but unfortunately some loose possession in the middle of the park resulted in a well taken goal by the visitors.

This seemed to lift our opponents who in turn pressed the ball with a lot more confidence.

As the game wore on the better chances fell to ourselves and in fairness there only looked like one team that would go on and win the game, goals followed the game concluded with the full time score; Guisborough 3:1 Celtic nation.

On reflection this result proved to be a very important one and has kept us in the mix for this title run in.
