Redcar Newmarket went nap in the County Cup and Athletic Reserves also enjoyed victory in Teesside League Division Two. 

The Saturday County Cup dominated the weekend fixtures resulting in four of the nine teams competing from the League progressing to the last eight, Thornaby Dubliners fought back from 2-1 behind to defeat Wiggington Grasshoppers 3-2, Anton Buchan pulled it back to 2-1 at half time and second half goals from Gareth License and James Hackett secured the victory. Nunthorpe Athletic drew 2-2 at Bedale, but went through 5-4 on penalties, Alex brown scored both goals for Nunthorpe, Thirsk Falcons won 3-2 at fellow league side Great Ayton United with goals from Josh Boynton scoring just after half time, Ryan McKendry scored two goals late on to secure the victory, as did Redcar Newmarket who defeated Lingdale 5-2, Liam Jackson and Harry Shaw scored a brace each, Lee Brockbank also on target for Newmarket, Dale Simpson and Shaun Howes replied for Lingdale, there were number of disappointing defeats, Grangetown Boys Club surprisingly lost 4-3 at Old Malton St Mary’s, an understrength BEADS FC lost 4-1 away to Dringhouses and North Ormesby narrowly lost 2-1 at Stockton Churches Baptists.

Richmond Mavericks pulled of a surprise 3-2 victory against Whinney Banks YCC who are the only unbeaten team in the league, in the First Division Lou Moore Trophy, Carl Pottinger gave the Mvrks a first minute lead, but David Barnes and Jack Campbell gave Whinney Banks a 2-1 lead inside fifteen minutes, but Richard Thompson pulled it back to 2-2 at half time, Wayne Gredziak scored what turned out to be the winner in the 70th minute.

In the two first division games played, New Marske secured a 3-2 welcome over Northallerton Town, an OG gave Northallerton a 1-0 lead, Ryan Bennions pulled it back to 1-1 at half time, a minute into the second half Chris Pattison regained Northallertons lead at 2-1 but Luke Johnson made it 2-2 in the 52nd minute before Luke Nicholson secured the New Marske victory five minutes later, there was no goals in the first half in the game at Stockton West End, who entertained Fishburn Park who took the lead on the hour through Jack Wilson, Karl Williams pulled it back to 1-1 in the 74th minute with John Leyshon scoring the winner for Stockton two minutes later.

In Division Two no change at the top but Yarm consolidated third place with a 6-0 victory over Middleton Rangers with Jack Dalton scoring a hat trick, Geoff Holt, Jamie Dunn and Ben Griffiths also on target, Redcar Athletic won 3-1 at Billingham with Kyran Clark scoring a brace and Aaron Dale also scoring, Matthew Murray gave Billingham the lead after five minutes which they held until the 65th minute before Athletic replied, Guisborough Globe secured only second victory of the season with a 5-3 victory over St Mary’s College to move of the bottom of the league, with a brace from Lewis Reeve, Peter Dixon, Jon Wanless and Brian Combellack also on target.

Three more teams joined Yarm in the semi-finals on the second division Burness Plate, Billingham Synthonia secured a 3-2 victory over Loftus Athletic, Ross Brogan, Joe Morgan-Wilson and Liam Kelley scored for Synthonia, Jordan Rowe and Martyn Say replied, Staithes Athletic had a comfortable 7-0 victory at Cargo Fleet AFC with Jordan McDonald, Steve Starsmore and Luke Weed all scoring a brace each, Joe Butters also scored and Redcar Town had a narrow 2-1 victory over Kader FC, Stuart Poulter and Sam Thompson gave Town an early 2-0 lead, Liam Coulter made it 2-1 six minutes before half time, but this remained the full time score.
