Whinney Banks YCC have reached the final of the Mitre Prostar MacMillan Bowl League Cup final, after a 4-1 victory over Fishburn Park, due to both teams suffering from waterlogged pitches the match was player on the all-weather pitch at North Shore Academy, ground of Stockton West End.
A David Johnston free kick gave Whinney Banks the lead after half an hour, but Nathan Storr made it 1-1 just before half time. In the second half Michael Shellard regained the Whinney Banks side's lead in the 58th minute and two goals from Jack Campbell in the 72nd and 81st minute gave Whinney Banks YCC a place in the final against Boro Rangers, on Wednesday 11th May at Thornaby FC, kick off 7.30pm.
Only one of the five scheduled league matches survived the weather, Thirsk Falcons entertained Thornaby Dubliners who scored what turned out to be the only goal of the game through Charlie Raby in the 27th minute, Thirsk pressed for a way back into the match but they reduced to ten men with five minutes remaining when Alex Karvounes was sent off.
