Boro Rangers stay top, while Redcar Town hit five and Newmarket concede five in a busy league programme.

Unbeaten Boro Rangers are well in control at the top of the table following a 5-1 victory over Grangetown Boys Club with Jamie Bellamy scoring four times and Matthew McQueeney also on target, Kenny Portus replied for the Boys Club, Stockton West End keep up the chase with a 5-2 victory over St Mary’s College, Ben Turner with a brace took his total to 44 for the season, Michael Snaith, Joe Teasdale and Jake Large also on target, Steve Hutchinson and Ryan Mackay replied for the College.

Fishburn Park completed a bad week for Thornaby Dubliners, who lost heavily against Boro Rangers in Wednesday’s County Cup Final, then slipped to a 2-0 defeat at Whitby, Whinney Banks YCC with five games in hand on the top three, won 4-3 at Staithes Athletic, BEADS FC took an early lead through Paul Crager against Nunthorpe Athletic, but slipped to a 2-1 defeat after Anthony Able equalised just before half time and Danny Ball scored the winner on the hour. Thirsk Falcons who also have five games to catch up, scored a brace through Stuart Rose, but Gareth Barber scored a hat trick in the 5-2 victory over Redcar Newmarket, Lingdale had to come from behind against Yarm to win 4-1 with a brace from Chris Harland and Redcar Town recorded a 5-1 victory over Billingham FC with Clark Reader scoring a brace.
