Police are appealing for information after a 15-year-old boy was assaulted at the entrance of Locke Park on Cowies Corner in Redcar.

The incident occurred on Monday at around 6pm, when the victim was approached by a group of six youths, two of whom were on push bikes. The youths allegedly punched the victim to the head around 10-15 times.

One of the suspects is described as a white male, around 5 ft 2, of skinny build and around 15-16-years-old. He was also wearing a dark grey hooded top, black bottoms and dark shoes. The group went into Locke Park in the direction of McDonalds after the incident.

The victim was treated at a local Walk-in centre as he had swelling to the face as a result of the assault.
