A football player had to be given CPR on the pitchside after a head clash during a challenge during a match in our area.

On Sunday afternoon, Skelton Ladies were playing York Railway Institute Res as part of a Northern League fixture at the De Brus Centre in Skelton when two players accidentally collided while trying to head the ball.

While the Skelton player seemed to have recovered initially, she suddenly collapsed at the sideline, suffered a seizure and became unresponsive.

The captain of the Skelton Ladies team then administered CPR whilst emergency services were en route.

The air ambulance landed on the playing field and paramedics also attended the incident by road.

The player was taken to hospital where she thankfully recovered and was discharged later that evening.

A man from Middlesbrough who was arrested following an incident in South Bank has been released on bail pending further enquiries.

As we reported on Zetland FM yesterday, officers attended an address on Park Avenue at 2pm on Saturday in response to a report of violence.

Upon arrival at the property, a police vehicle was smashed with a pole causing significant damage to the windscreen of the vehicle.

A Police Officer was then bitten by a large Malinois dog, sustaining injuries to his leg.

A 27-year-old man who was arrested following the incident was interviewed by detectives from Redcar CID and released on bail pending further enquiries.

Police are urgently asking the public to hand in some stolen tablets if they come across them.

Around 10 blister packs of 4 Fentanyl tablets were stolen when a car was broken into on Redcar High Street in the early hours of Friday.

Officers say the medication could pose significant danger to anyone who may find and take it.

Anyone who finds it is asked to contact Cleveland Police on the non-emergency number 101.
