A teenager's been charged in connection with alleged and actual knifepoint robberies in our area.

The 18-year-old male has been charged with attempted robbery and robbery.

The offences are alleged to have taken place in Guisborough on Sunday 13th August and Wednesday 16th.

He appeared at Teesside Magistrates Court yesterday and was remanded in custody until he appears at Teesside Crown Court in mid-September.

 

Four arrests have been made and three vehicles recovered following reports of a two-in-one burglary in Middlesbrough.

A 36-year-old man was arrested and questioned by police in connection with a burglary on Fox Howe in Coulby Newham reported on Thursday.

A white Mercedes CLA was recovered.

An 18-year-old man was arrested after a red Renault Megane and a black Ford Fiesta were recovered after reports of burglaries on Westerdale Road on 24th July, and Willow Bank in Coulby Newham on 13th August.

Following a report that a Volkswagen Gold was stolen from a property on Hall Drive in Acklam on Thursday a 20-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of burglary and an 18-year-old woman arrested on suspicion of obstructing police.

A two-in-one burglary is when someone gains access to a property, steals car keys, and subsequently a vehicle.

Cycle and pathway charity Sustrans has teamed up with Redcar and Cleveland Council to resurface a well-known local path.

Commonly known as the 'black path', the pathway in South Bank is now suitable for use not only by walkers but by prams, wheelchairs, scooters, trikes and bicycles.
