A rescue mission was launched at the weekend after six paddleboarders got into difficulties near to South Gare.
Redcar RNLI launched the Atlantic 85 lifeboat at 20 past 4 on Saturday afternoon, after a number of paddleboarders got into a struggle off the coast.
The individuals were picked up by another boat and ferried back to shore by the lifeboat crew.
All were returned safely to the Redcar RNLI lifeboat station.
A man has appeared in court following an armed robbery at a shop in Eston.
The incident took place at the Eston Convenience Store on Thursday, when a man entered the store wielding weapons and demanding money.
He then ran away on foot.
The offender was quickly identified and arrested.
He was charged with robbery and in appeared in court on Saturday.
A Cleveland Police operation which was set up to tackle organised criminality has been shortlisted for a national award that celebrates problem-solving initiatives.
Operation Arrow focused on identifying and disrupting organised crime groups, as well as safeguarding children and vulnerable adults from exploitation in Middlesbrough.
It has seen the successful prosecution of 35 defendants, with 10 key members of an OCG recently receiving a combined total of 67 years in prison.
A number of people at risk of exploitation have also been safeguarded.
The operation was just one of ten shortlisted for the 2023 Tilley Award out of a total of 115 submissions submitted by forces across the country.
